Yeah…I am going to subject you to a lot of pictures…I am pretty pleased I got this done in the one day I had set aside for it…it is mine, after all and I have a schedule to keep!
And the back…yes, I used a plain, white backing… BUT I only used white thread so I did not stress myself out!
You took a pretty ordinary quilt (not being mean, honest) and made into a fabulous quilt. Your eye and talent for design is outstanding. I love your work. For me, the more pictures the better!!!

Thanks, Linda…and no, I do not think you are being mean…If you have been reading this blog for any length of time you will know that I don’t much care for piecing…get the top done asap and get to the quilting!

Your feather quilting is beautiful; I love the unexpected addition of the curved cross-hatching in the border!
It is gorgeous Terri. You have transformed a relatively simple block with such beautiful quilting. I think the back is even more stunning as a ‘whole quilt’ look…. so Summery, and it really shows your stitching skills so well.
Wow great talent!
Was this done freehand, or are you computerized?
I am currently a freehand girl, Marg…
I did use Deloa’s Boomerang ruler for the cross-hatching.

This is just beautiful. Just shows what quilting can do to make the quilt!
Great job! Love the border!
Amazing! It’s just gorgeous.
That’s a fab quilt. I love the quilt top and I really love the quilting. Well done.
Beautiful!
You are my new hero. My passion has become dreaming about learning to quilt. I have a hugh stash of fabric, have no doubts about making the quilt top, but when I think of the quilting, I back off. Your quilting is fabulous! I can’t possibly live long enough to become that good at this art.
Oh Rosemary…nothing I did on this quilt is very difficult. Seriously. It does take practice and patience…and it helps to remember that I am quilting nearly every day. I get lots of experience which give me confidence to try new things. It is a skill you can learn.

[…] other news…I took my disappearing 9-patch in for the Tulip Time Quilt Show in Holland Michigan. I haven’t been to that show since it […]
I saw your quilt at the Tulip Time Quilt Show. I wish I would have grabbed some gloves to look at the back. It is even more amazing than the front! By the end of the show I could pick out the quilts that you quilted and the quilts that Deloa quilted. You two were the best longarmers there. Beautiful work! You make it look effortless!
Thanks so much, Amanda. I consider myself in very good company if you are comparing me favorably with Deloa! I haven’t seen the show and don’t know if I will get there. Was it good? No! Don’t tell me! Then I will really be sad if I don’t make it…;-)

Lol. How about this to make you feel better. We went on Sat and it was raining all day :p Although we got enough pause to be able to check out the art show. I hope you make it! 😉
Linda, this is fabulous, and inspiring! I know I can do this, but I tend to second guess myself and back away. Do you mind if I print the pictures to put up in my studio to remind myself how wonderful a quilt can look, given the time?
Not a problem…I keep a binder of inspiring work that I find.
