10 years of anything is a long time. And 2018 was my tenth year writing this blog.

It’s time to say goodbye. I have enjoyed writing here and reading your comments and I want to thank my readers for all of their kind words.

Weaving post…

I have been busy with gifts – wraps, scarves, shawls, shrugs, etc. Several people have asked if I sell my projects so I am considering building a small inventory of items after the first of the year.

Quilting by day, weaving by night. Not a bad life 😉

Weaving post

I have been weaving and this time I made something for myself. I nice colorful cowl to wear on vacation next week. Actually, I made two. One to keep and one to give.

Malabrigo Rios yarn – 8 dent heddle – Warped 85″x11″ – wove two 30″ pieces with hem stitched space in between them. Short fringe – one twist – ends overlapped and zigzag stitched.

I also took a Learning to Knit class at ThreadBender a local knit/weave shop. I am finding that some of the garments I would like to make with my woven fabric needs a bit of knitting to put them together.

I taught myself to knit years ago, but I wanted to learn the correct way of doing things and I never got the hang of purling. So now I have a good foundation and am making a bunch of dish cloths using various combinations of stitches to make get them stuck in my head for the future.

Finally cooled of here in West Michigan. Now I can start wearing some of my projects!!

Quilt show post

West Michigan Quilters’ Guild Quilts on the Grand show is this week. Friday and Saturday.

It was pretty busy when I was there yesterday morning so I did not get photos of all of my client’s quilts, but I did get a few.
