Aren’t we all, before the holidays 🙂
I got my pre-Christmas quilting done a couple of weeks ago and worked on some post-holiday client quilts last week.
This week is I’ve been baking, candy making, piecing and gifting.
First – these adorable little thread bowls from Gypsy and the Frog Studios! I sooooo did NOT need one of these, but thought they would make great little gifts for my wool obsessed friends…and well, me. 😉 Gypsy and the Frog does not have an active website, but you can find them on facebook and message them if you are interested in these.
Next – a little piecing for myself. This pattern is called Falling Triangles from Missouri Star Quilt Company. I cut 5″ squares to make two HSTs at a time instead of the layer cake (10″) recommended in the video. Using 5″ two-at-a-time pieces I do not have bias edges to sew to. The 10″ four-at-a-time method is slick and fun, but be careful with those edges!
This little candle mat is not quite done. It’s to be part of a Christmas present, but the company took 17 days to get the pattern to me so it’s a race to the finish! After stitching down the applique pieces I still have a bit of embroidery to do. Wish me luck! The pattern is designed by Bareroots
And of course the baking and candy making – ingredients for my mom’s fudge recipe. Yum!
So that is what has been going on in the Watson house and ThreadTales studio this week. Hope you are all well and prepping for the holidays as a comfortable pace 😉
