I used Superior’s Omni (poly covered poly) and Bottom Line in the bobbin. Both are strong threads and my typical combination. Although I don’t love Minky in general I haven’t had any issues that I have heard of from clients where we have used this combination.
Be careful what you read/believe from the forums with out fact checking. Often well meaning people will make a statement about something they think COULD be a problem and then it takes on a life of it’s own. I often think “Gee, I’ve been doing this for years and it’s been just fine.” “Never use sheets for backing” and “Never use batik on top and as backing” come to mind. Sometimes some people will have a problem with these things. It doesn’t mean it can’t be done or that you shouldn’t try it for yourself. Many other factors are in play.
